So you want to grow your blog? You’ve been blogging for Donkey years yet; your blog has been stagnant while other blogs that were just built a few months back are taking the lead.

You’ve tried several times to figure out what’s wrong with your blog maybe; you just need to turn a particular button and everything will fall into shape. I agree with you, what you need is to touch that invisible button and once you’ve done that; your blog will start growing speedily.

But then, there is a problem!

How do you locate that hidden button? Where do you even need to search for it?

Like many other bloggers on the web, blogging can be a daunting task sometimes. If proper care is not taken, you might waste a hell lot of time tinkering around trying to find solutions that will help you grow your blog.

However, what we ought to do is often just beneath our nose and in this case, the best thing is to calm down, slow down and then, look inwardly in what we’re doing perhaps, this alone will enable us to find an answer to our questions.

Without further ado, below are the 5 most essential ways you can effortlessly boost the growth of your blog even if you don’t have any experience.

Top 5 Ways to Easily Boost the Growth of Your Blog

1. Always Write Kiss-Ass Content

Ask any successful content marketer on the internet today what his secret is and, he will tell you “he writes nothing but excellent contents”.

If you doubt me, go try it out, I will be waiting.

I know this has become a cliché on the internet and, that’s because it’s indeed important. No blog can survive on the web today without superb contents.

You can do all the promotion you want for all I care, build as many subscribers as you can, make your blog be the most beautiful on the internet, if you fail to write good articles, you will fail. No two ways about it.

[thrive_text_block color=”note” headline=””]Do you think blogs like Copy Blogger, Smart Blogger, Pro Blogger and Enchanting Marketing would have been as popular as they are today if they didn’t spend enough time writing top notch contents? Of course not.[/thrive_text_block]

This is the more reason why everything you publish on your blog must always be of great value. Your readers will not only like you for this but, they will also become addicted to your blog.

2.Be Helpful

Do you know the easiest way to liquidate your blog? Be stingy and always refuse to lay helping hand to your readers and other bloggers.

Now you know! (In case you’ve been looking for ways to kill your blog)…… Kidding!

Successful bloggers always make it a point of duty to help their readers in any way possible.

Your readers have problems that are bordering them and, they’re often looking for ways to solve these problems. It’s your duty to provide them with the solutions.

You don’t have to keep anything away from them because if you do, they will simply get it from your competitor.

The moment people see you as someone who’s always eager to help others; they will always spread the word about you. Just show them you care and that you’re there for them and, they will, in turn, reward you with their loyalty.

3. Be Active in Other Communities

One of the best ways to get the attention of other bloggers and their readers is to be active on their blog.

This has proven to be the best fastest ways to build an active blog audience. All you need to do is provide lots of value to these communities, and once the owners and their readers notice you, you won’t be able to contain the traffic that will follow.

Mitch Joel once stated that ”You’ll have no semblance of a community unless you’re an active community member in other spaces.”

It doesn’t have to be confusing or difficult. There are two primary ways I know through which anyone can do this.

They are:

Blog Commenting and Guest blogging.

I’m not talking about those spammy blog commenting right now, I mean commenting with difference and values.

You first have to read the entire article and make sure you understood what the author is saying then, contribute to the discussion via the comment section.

Check out this comment Ryan Biddulph left on this post at Okdock some time ago.

See how relevant and sound the comment is? This is the type of comment that’ll always get the blog owners attention.

Just imagine what it will be like if Jon Morrow or Brian Clack tweets any of your posts.

See what I mean?

Once the blog owner has become familiar with you, you can now pitch him for a guest posting idea if he accepts guest posts and if he agrees, you will be able to take back to your blog a good number of his readers.

4. Ensure Your Blogs Looks Good

The benefits of having a good looking blog cannot be over emphasized.

Remember the saying that “The eyes will always eat before the mouth”. This is very true because, when a visitor arrives at your blog the first time, one of the things that will make him stay is the look of your site.

I’m not saying your blog should be the best regarding appearance but, it’s highly advisable to ensure your blog looks good enough.

Everything should be well placed. Get a good looking theme and logo, make sure your sidebar is not clustered, provide lots of white space, and use good fonts, etc.

All these will help to beautify your blog and make it worth looking at.

If you want to enter a taxi, do you usually choose a dirty, rickety old car or, do you go for the neat, good looking and healthy ones? I know you’ll choose the later.

Now, that’s exactly how blogging is too.

[thrive_text_block color=”light” headline=””] Apart from the general look of your blog, your domain also matters. You must make sure it’s simply, catchy and easy to remember. If your domain fails to meet any of these requirements, you will find it hard to get repeat visitors.[/thrive_text_block]

The bottom line is this: If your blog is not pleasant in the eyes, it will always scare your readers and potential customers away.

5. Always Deliver As Promised

This is a no brainer.

Ordinarily, it’s never good to be a man that does not keep his words, if you’re known for that, it will kill your reputation.

In blogging, you don’t have to take your promises to your readers for granted. If you made them any form of promise, you must see that you fulfilled it, no matter how infinitesimal it is.

Making any promise is always good and easy but what some people often find difficult is to deliver on those promises.

What does the title of your opt-in form promise your prospective subscribers? After they’ve joined your list because of what you pledged to give them, were you able to deliver as you promised?

What about the title of your blog post? Are you just using it to capture your reader’s interest so they will stop and read the article?

The fact is that once someone visits your blog post because of how sexy and inviting the headline is if the body of the post fails to deliver on what the headline promised, you will lose that person “forever”.

Therefore, one of the best ways to build up your reputation on the internet and grow your blog is to be a man of his words.

If you know you can’t keep a promise, don’t just make it.

Take Away

The key to growing a blog is often simple. You just need to narrow down your search on this and focus instead on the basic things.

Tinkering around looking for answers will never do you any much good, you will only be wasting your time and energy; therefore, I will urge you to give the tips I just shared here a try and see what difference it will make in the growth of your blog.

You can come back here and thank me later.

  1. Thanks Nwangene for the wonderful tips. Your post will prove really helpful for new bloggers like me. I am depending on blog commenting just now for traffics. It seems I have to explore now..

I was also told that besides what you have mentioned, designing free themes/templates will also help a lot in bring traffics. But not sure how far it’s true.

    Thanks.

    • I’ve never tried to design free templates Sharab,

It might be able to drive traffic though but i think it’s complicated, why not use that time on other better ways that will be worthwhile?

      Thanks for coming.
